Birthday Reminder is built with privacy as our core foundation. We believe that your personal dates, contacts, and special occasions are private to you. This Privacy Policy describes how we process your information in the Birthday Reminder mobile application.

1. 100% Local Data Storage

All information you input into Birthday Reminder—including names, dates of birth, custom event details, notes, categories, and photographs—is stored strictly locally on your device. We do not operate any backend servers, cloud databases, or external storage systems for your reminders. Your data never leaves your physical device unless you explicitly export it yourself.

2. Device Permissions

To provide key features, the app may request the following permissions on your device:

• Contacts Permission: If granted, the app allows you to import birthdays directly from your device's address book. This contact data is processed entirely on-device to build your reminder list. It is never uploaded to any remote server or shared with third parties.
• Notifications: Used to alert you of upcoming birthdays, anniversaries, and custom events at your scheduled times. All notification calculations and scheduling are done locally by the operating system on your device.
• Photo Gallery / Camera: If you choose to assign a custom photo to a reminder, the app accesses your device storage or camera to load that photo. The image is saved locally within the app's secure private directory.

3. Data Security

Because all data remains on your device, the security of your data depends on your device's security. Birthday Reminder leverages platform-native secure storage mechanisms (such as iOS Keychain and Android Keystore/SharedPreferences) to safeguard database configurations. We recommend using device-level security (passcodes, FaceID, or fingerprint locks) to protect your device from unauthorized access.

4. No Third-Party Tracking or Analytics

We do not include third-party tracking software, advertising SDKs, or behavioral analytics tools in the application. We do not monitor how you use the app, who you add to your reminders, or when you open the application. If the app crashes, system crash logs may be processed by Apple or Google in accordance with your device's global diagnostic settings, but these logs contain no personal reminder information.
