The History

From the 90s to the Modern Era

A 30-year journey of helping people remember the dates that matter most.

The 1990s

The Freeware Era

Long before cloud computing and smartphones, Birthday Reminder was born. Originally developed as a passion project desktop application using the good old Visual Basic 5 & 6 under the banner of ProSoft.

It was distributed as freeware, designed simply to help people track their family and friends without cluttering up heavy office software.

The C# Rewrite

As technology evolved and Windows XP dominated, the codebase needed to mature. The entire application was carefully rewritten in C#, taking advantage of modern .NET frameworks to provide better stability and performance for our dedicated user base.

public class BirthdayTracker {
    public void MigrateFromVB6() {
        Console.WriteLine("Upgrading into the new millennium...");
    }
}

The Modern Revival

Decades later, it was time for an upgrade. I decided it was time to brush off my development skills and rebuild Birthday Reminder for the modern age.

With the assistance of cutting-edge AI, the app has been completely reimagined as a premium, privacy-first mobile application—bringing the original offline-first philosophy right into your pocket.
